AMERICAN HISTORY

Unveiling a striking testament to the resilience of African American history, My Gallery NYC. Cordially invites you to commemorate Juneteenth through the evocative lens of our featured artist, Larry Weekes. Deeply committed to encapsulating history through his art, Weekes offers a series of poignant drawings that chronicle the tribulations and triumphs of African Americans. Each stroke of his artwork bears witness to the profound suffering, yet at the same time, celebrates the monumental contributions made by these brave individuals. Their efforts and enduring spirit have become the very bedrock upon which our nation proudly stands.

Join us in this thought-provoking exploration of our shared past. Through Weekes artistry, we shine a spotlight on the less recognized aspects of our history, boldly naming the injustices, akin to diagnosing a malignancy. In doing so, we believe that the first step towards collective healing is embracing the whole truth.

This Juneteenth, let's honor the past, acknowledge the present, and envision a brighter, more inclusive future. Together, let us foster an environment where the voices of all Americans are heard, their experiences acknowledged, and their history appreciated.
