CHIC

With a background in fashion, Chic is a visual artist based in Brooklyn, New York, who specializes in cartooning, portraiture, sculpture, and mixed media. He embraces the opportunity to push the boundaries of the canvas.

Utilizing mediums such as oil, acrylic, Indian ink, ebony pencil, and modeling clay, Chic's artistic practice draws inspiration from diverse sources such as music, social commentary, animation, fashion, and pop-cultural nostalgia.

In his latest solo exhibition, "The Michael Jackson and Prince 'Get Off the Wall' Art Show 1," Chic pays homage to the enduring legacies of these late music legends.

"My goal is to bring a visual concert to viewers by using three-dimensional elements, various textures, and creative outtakes associated with both multifaceted entertainers," says Chic.

Chic's artwork has been displayed around the U.S., including The Ali Cultural Art Center in Pompano Beach, Florida; The Sacramento Fine Arts Center in Carmichael, California; and the Fulton Art Fair in Brooklyn, New York. His paintings have also been included in online art galleries affiliated with institutions such as Medford Arts Center in New Jersey and Crossroads Art Center in Virginia.
